*****ANYBODY REMEMBER THE MATTHEW MORBY CASE FROM 1996?***** MEDIA ADVISORY: Central West Teacher Taken To Hospital After Exhibiting Bizarre Behavior Shortly after 9:30am, deputies responded to Central West High School after school officials reported a substitute teacher acting in a bizarre fashion and making strange comments in front of students. When they arrived, deputies made contact with the teacher, forty four year old Steven John Diddy, in the school office. After speaking with Diddy, he was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Diddy made headlines in October of 1996 when, while working for local media station, he took responsibility for the kidnap and murder of two year old Matthew Moorby. He later recanted his statement and said he had made it up. In March of 1997, charges against Diddy were dropped due to insufficient evidence. He was later taken to a mental hospital for treatment.
