#ASTRONOMY - Part 1/3: God Creator Of Worlds Without Number My Personal Views: Jesus Christ is “the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning” (Mosiah 3:8). Under the direction of His Father, as the Bible teaches it too, He is also the Creator of “worlds... without number” (Hebrews 1:2, 11:3, Moses 1:33) which are “innumerable... unto man” (Moses 1:35) and “were it possible that man could number the particles of the earth, yea, millions of earths like this, it would not be a beginning to the number” of His creations (Moses 7:30). God first “created all things... spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth” for, as He said, “for in heaven created I them” (Moses 3:5, Genesis 2:5). After the spiritual creation of this earth (created in spirit), He organized “that which is temporal in the likeness of that which is spiritual” (D&C 77:2), so that if we could see “things as they really are” (Jacob 4:13) with our “spiritual eyes” (Moses 1:11) we would see that “all things [on earth] have their likeness” (Moses 6:63) in the spirit world or heaven (men, animals, plants and nature, this earth). The purpose of God in creating our earth (and worlds without number) is by pure and perfect love for us His “children” (Psalms 82:6, Acts 17:29, Hebrews 12:9) and His desire to help us grow and become “perfect” like Him (Matthew 5:48, 3 Nephi 27:27) and to return live in His presence in “a fulness of joy” (Psalm 16:11, 3 Nephi 28:10), for He said, “This is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39), who “doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world, for he loveth the world” (2 Nephi 26:24, John 3:16). Surely “all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator” (Alma 30:44). How not to marvel at God’s creations and come to the same conclusion as Albert Einstein that, “God does not play dice with the universe” (Albert Einstein, The Born-Einstein Letters 1916-55). What a glorious God and Heavenly Father we have! Scriptures: D&C 88:36-37 and 42-47, “All kingdoms have a law given; And there are many kingdoms; for there is no space in the which there is no kingdom; and there is no kingdom in which there is no space, either a greater or a lesser kingdom... He hath given a law unto all things, by which they move in their times and their seasons; And their courses are fixed, even the courses of the heavens and the earth, which comprehend the earth and all the planets. And they give light to each other in their times and in their seasons... The earth rolls upon her wings, and the sun giveth his light by day, and the moon giveth her light by night, and the stars also give their light, as they roll upon their wings in their glory, in the midst of the power of God. Unto what shall I liken these kingdoms, that ye may understand? Behold, all these are kingdoms, and any man who hath seen any or the least of these hath seen God moving in his majesty and power.” Lds Leaders: Elder M. Russell Ballard (Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles) said, “A few weeks ago, on a cold, dark winter’s night, my wife, Barbara, and I looked in awe up at the sky. The millions of stars seemed exceptionally bright and beautiful. I then turned to the Pearl of Great Price and read again with wonder what the Lord God said to Moses: “And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten” (Moses 1:33). In our day the Hubble deep-space telescope has confirmed the magnitude of what Moses saw. Hubble scientists say the Milky Way galaxy, of which our earth and sun are just a tiny part, is estimated to be only one of over 200 billion similar galaxies. For me it is difficult to comprehend, impossible to fathom, so large and so vast are God’s creations. Brothers and sisters, the power by which the heavens and earth were and are created is the priesthood. Those of us who are members of the Church know that the source of this priesthood power is God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ. Not only is the priesthood the power by which the heavens and the earth were created, but it is also the power the Savior used in His mortal ministry to perform miracles... ” [“This Is My Work and Glory,” General Conference, April 2013.] + President Gordon B. Hinckley (President of the Church) said, “As everyone here knows, there is only one reason for any of us serving. And that is to assist our Father in Heaven in His declared work and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of His sons and daughters (see Moses 1:39). There is one grand key in this vast divine program, and that is the redemption of mankind by the Lord Jesus Christ.” [“This Glorious Easter Morn,” General Conference, April 1996.]
