*****ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIA HUNTERS & ANGLERS!!!!!!***** Conservation in Pennsylvania is in trouble! House Bill 1576 left the Environmental Resource and Energy Committee on Monday and has moved to the House floor to be voted on very soon. Why should you care? For starters, this legislation removes the current requirement of riparian buffers around special protection waters. This will have NEGATIVE impacts on not only wildlife habitat but on the WATER QUALITY of our COMMUNITIES as well!! Additionally, this would mandate that all species to be listed under endangered protection would have to be approved and voted on by the PA legislature. This adds an unnecessary and cumbersome process to what should be a purely scientific decision. The US U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has already threatened to take away Pennsylvanias federal funding (Pittman-Robertson & Dingell-Johnson funds) if this takes place. Protect conservation in our commonwealth. Protect our water. Protect our wildlife. Protect our resources. PLEASE contact your representative NOW and tell him to vote NO to House Bill 1576.
