*** AVERAGE SAFER*** AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION *** 2 year old Chocolate is limping and not putting weight on one of her rear legs—possibly because of a dislocated hip. Given some pain meds, this young very pretty girl needs to get to a real vet asap to figure out what can be done for her. She was in decent health otherwise when she first got to Brooklyn ACC but sitting in a crate 24 x7 can’t help but be so uncomfortable for her. But take a look at her behavioral eval—she absolutely aced it earning a coveted Average rating. No one’s come for Chocolate and now ACC assumes nobody else would want an injured dog, no matter how young and sweet and absolutely gorgeous she is. They’ve put Chocolate on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight, Chocolate needs to find that one person out there who will make sure she gets treatment for her leg and who will give her the kind of home she deserves to recuperate and become the wonderful family addition she so wants to be. If that’s you, start working on fostering or adopting Chocolate. But don’t wait. At noon tomorrow, Chocolate will come out of her cage when they come for her, she’ll limp down to a new room, but this time they’ll make her gone forever.
