# Ahmed posts ---Excerpts from Todays Jumma Khutba HAJJ-E-MABROOR Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, O’ Brothers in Faith. Our Holy Prophet laid great importance on the virtues of the first ten days of the month of Zil-Haj. He said, “there are no days in the sight of Allah better than the 10 days and to Allah there are no deeds superior or more rewarding than good deeds done in these ten days (last of which is Eidul Azha)” Zil-Haj is chosen by Allah over other months of the year for Muslims to perform Haj (pilgrimage). The pilgrimage to Mecca, is the fifth of the fundamental Muslim practices and institutions known as the five pillars of Islam. In Islam pilgrimage is not visit to the shrines of saints, or call to the holy men for help or visits to sights where miracles are supposed to have occurred. It is viewed as a particularly meritorious activity which serves as a penance - the ultimate forgiveness for sins, devotion, and intense spirituality. O’ Brothers in Faith Therefore Haj comes as an offering for Muslims to get closer to their Creator. It is also an act of worship involving limbs and senses, all in complete harmony to worship Allah, Subhanallah. Pilgrimage is also a school of ethics that purify the self and train it to acquire such virtues as treating other people nicely and tolerating their mistakes, Subhanallah. O’ Brothers in Faith Be aware !!! The aim for your special journey to Mecca should be Haj-e-Mabroor the accepted Haj, for which the only reward is Jannah. The kind of Haj that you should strive for is called “mabroor” as it will make you “abraar” which means the dwellers of paradise. The conditions of Haj-e-Mabroor are simple : The money paid for the haj must be halal. What actually meant is that one’s earning must be fully halal. A person who saves his halal money for haj by spending non-halal in daily life is not fulfilling the condition. One should keep away from evil and acts of sin and unjust disputes during the period of Haj. All the rituals should be performed according to the Sunnah. There should be no show-off or sense of pride. The Haj should be done with sincerity and purely for the sake of Allah. The most important of all is that after return from Haj, one is just reborn and should continue life with purity of heart and obedience to Allah just the way one did in the period of the Haj. Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen. Was-salaatu was-salaamu alaa Khairil mursaleen. Muhammadin-nabeey-yil Ummiy-yee, wa-‘alaa aalihee, wasah-bihee, aj-ma’een.
