(#AidanTurner) (#BeingHuman) After 4 years I’m still a bit peeved at the way #Mitchell died. Especially after reading how the producers of the Northern American remake wanted to give their devoted audience the fan-friendly finale they “deserved”. While I never liked the Syfy version, I appreciate that they lefts their fans feeling good, instead devastated. I never understood why Toby Whithouse had to totally tear Mitchell’s character down or to have him die in such a horribly hopeless way. I know Mitchell wasn’t a real person but Aidan made us care about him beyond belief. So I feel like what TW did to Mitchell he also did to his fans. The vampire “Aidan” in the SYFY version redeemed himself in the end, was saved, still loved by his friends, had a heroic death and got the girl. And their fans were able to let their series go with a good feeling. I wish Mitchell could have died that way or at least been given some hope. Instead, after spending the season trying to redeem himself and once again rescuing his friends, Mitchell died feeling lost and with his friends believing he wasn’t worth saving. Im making myself even angrier writing this. Nothing Mitchell did was acknowledged, he didn’t even get an honorable death. Check out the ending of the SYFY version, while I know none of us wanted Mitchell to die at all, but if he had died the way “Aidan” did, wouldn’t you have walked away with a smile.
