“Allora Sports Club Face-Lift” Over the past three months, - TopicsExpress

“Allora Sports Club Face-Lift” Over the past three months, the Allora Sports Club has been refurbished, with both the sports bar and dining room having been re-painted and re-decorated. The Sports Club committee decided that the club décor was becoming tired and it needed to become more contemporary to encourage new patrons to visit and former patrons to return. Whilst not all the bowls memorabilia remains on display, the committee has been very careful to preserve the club’s strong bowls history and as such a tribute to the early days of the Bowls Club takes pride of place in the sports bar. The dining room has been totally transformed into an upmarket function centre with polished floor boards, curtains and artwork creating an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The Sports Club also has plans to install a new state of the art commercial kitchen to ensure that functions with large numbers of guests can be more easily accommodated. The club committee would like to acknowledge a great team of local tradesman who assisted with the renovations. They are Jamie Mutch’s Allora Joinery, Paul Parker Painting, Kev Harrison Plumbing, Paul Davey Electrical, Gordon Turner Sign writing and George Cassar Floor Sanding and Polishing. The committee also acknowledges the work of volunteers Max Bielefeld and Graham Whittaker who had a knack of turning up at the very time the most difficult jobs needed to be done. The location of the Sports Club is certainly one of the best in Allora, situated on the banks of the Dalrymple Creek and in the shadow of the Allora Mountain. With the renovations, Allora Sports Club members undoubtedly have a club that they can be proud of and one that is a credit to the entire Allora community. The committee is keen to showcase the “new” club and have organised a Cabaret and Tapas evening on Saturday June 7th, starting at 6.00 pm. It will be a great evening with fine food and top class entertainment and everyone is very welcome to come along. If you arrange a table of eight it will cost only $25.00 per head, tickets available for purchase at the Allora Newsagency. For Sports Club bookings please contact Wendy on 0437 342 870.
