*Always A Champion!!* A blessed Sunday to everyone and I do hope that youve found the courage and strength that allowed you to make this past week the very best it could be. Count those blessings as the holidays once again approach and remember to live, love, and laugh for life truly is all in what you make of it. That said, today felt like a good day for a traditionally daily post, so please feel free to read, comment, like, share and ENJOY the Horse Racing Legacy Historical Tidbit for November 9, 2014: Refrigerator (1988—February 1999) was a bay Appendix Quarter Horse racehorse by Rare Jet and the mare Native Parr (by Heisanative) who is best known for winning the Champions of Champions three times. His sire Rare Jet was a grandson of Easy Jet and also a double descendant of both Depth Charge (TB) and Three Bars (TB). His dam, Native Parr was a granddaughter of Raise A Native (TB), and great granddaughter of Raise A Native (TB). During his racing career, Refrigerator earned over $2 million and won 22 starts, 11 of those victories coming in stakes races. He would post victories in such races as the 1990 All American Futurity and the Champion of Champions (x3). Nine of the stakes races he won were G-1 races. Refrigerator was bred by Sonny Vaughn and died in February of 1999. He was inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame in 2000, the honor coming posthumously.
