“And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, - TopicsExpress

“And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.” (1 Kings 1: 39) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. Our Focal Scripture tells the tale of Solomon’s ascension to the throne of Israel. David was old and too weak to continue reigning as King; there was need for a new King to emerge and take over; a vacancy needed to be filled; there were older contenders to the throne besides Solomon. Despite not being the most qualified, Solomon was crowned King of Israel. Solomon took over and filled the vacancy occasioned by David’s old age. Others jostled for the throne, but Solomon later sat on the throne; others wanted to take over, but Solomon took over. Friend, hear God’s prophetic word: in this year, you will take over. You will take charge; you will sit on the throne; you will fill the vacancies around you; you will be the one to be promoted when someone ahead of you gives way; you will be the one to take the reins of power; you will be the one to occupy the positions that other people are jostling for; you will be the one to reign and rule over others. God says, you are taking over in your family; you are taking over in your area of business; you are taking over among your colleagues and contemporaries; you are taking over in your city; you are taking over the spaces and positions that have been vacated by others. Solomon took over as King after he was anointed by Zadok the priest. God says, you have the anointing to take over and take charge. It’s your turn to take over and reign, and no man will take your turn. Pray With Me: Lord, in this year, I’m taking over on all sides, in Jesus’ name! Have A Restful Saturday. This Is Our Year Of CONTINUOUS CONGRATULATIONS! JEHOVAH IS INVOLVED!
