"..........And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him...........2 Kings 2:11-15.........." Lesson: A sudden experience occurred as Elisha talked with Elijah as they both journeyed along........the chariots of fire (God designed means of transportation) separated Elisha from Elijah........the speed of which is faster than any other flying means of transportation.........the experience as recorded was a sudden one.......two people talking and one was caught up suddenly........ Lk 17:35-36…….. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left……………what a thing to reflect on.......we could likened this to what Christ revealed to us as rapture..........after Christ resurrection on the mount where the disciples gathered before His ascension he revealed to us this great experience that we believers are expecting.......the laws of gravity would fail on the righteous believers as we can see in His ascension....... Acts 1:9……….And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight……….All power belongs to God and must obey Him........the rapture: sudden mystery disappearing of saints in Christ.........Elijah has given Elisha the condition of getting his hard request answered.........in verse 12.......because he saw as Elijah was been taken in the chariots of fire, he got his request.........Elisha tore his own garment into two....... The same occurrence when Christ said it is finished the veil in the temple was torn into two from top to bottom........given us access to the Father without barrier.......we access to salvation, sanctification and Spirit baptism.......afterwards Elisha took the mantle that fell from Elijah which signifies the anointing and authority of power........before we can effective in our ministries we need the power from above.....and not psychology or charisma..... Acts 1:8………But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth………in verse 14.......Elisha first miracle became the last Elijah did........Christ revealed to us greater things shall be done through us........in verse 15.......the spectators (the sons of the prophets) knew that Elisha was no more an ordinary man anymore they knew the Spirit of Elijah was upon him......... Jn 14:12-14………Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it…………as believers we need the power of the Holy Spirit because this distinguishes us in ministry and also the enemy knows that we are untouchable and will bow themselves at the mention of the name of JESUS in our mouth........ Prayer: O Lord give me the passion and desire for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.....in Jesus name.....Amen.
