“And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, - TopicsExpress

“And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a mans hand...” (1 Kings 18: 44). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. In our Focal Scripture, Elijah’s servant saw a cloud out of the sea. Usually, a cloud is a sign that it is about to rain; so Elijah’s servant saw a sign that it was about to rain, and that sign arose from the waters. Ephesians 5 vs. 26 compares God’s word with water. So, put differently, Elijah’s servant saw a sign out Gods word. Friend, find your signs from God’s word. If God has made you a promise, and if you have expectations, look into God’s word and find signs that it is about to happen. Look into God’s word and see that your miracle has happened before, again and again; look into God’s word and you will see that what is impossible with men is possible with God. If you keep looking around you for signs that something good is about to happen, you may not find any sign, and you may likely discover that things are not favourable or in order. If you keep looking around, you may likely find bad news, protocols, shut doors, etc that are not in your favour. Is there something your heart desires but it seems impossible? Look into God’s word and you will see that it is possible. Is there a blessing that seems intangible or a height that seems unattainable? Look into God’s word and you will touch it by faith. God designs the supernatural, and if you want to fathom His next design from what you see around you, you may see nothing to suggest that He is at work. Stop looking for the signs of men; focus on God’s word; find your signs from the Word. Pray With Me: Lord, I will find signs from Your Word, in Jesus’ name! Follow on Twitter @jerrystreams.
