“And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold”. (Acts 28 vs 2). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. It is important to observe that prior to our Focal Scripture, Paul and his co-travellers had suffered a shipwreck. They experienced a tragedy; they had been through adversity in the midst of the sea. They had been out in the cold. They had to swim to the sea shore after the shipwreck,so they were soaked in water. Notice that the barbarians lit a fire and invited Paul and his friends to come and get some warmth. The fire was going to chase the cold away; the fire was going to dry up their body and their clothes. The fire was going to stop them from looking like what they went through. The fire was going to remove any negative identity they may have taken from their sad experience. Friend, the Fire of God in you takes away every wrong Identity, and it has the capacity to transform you to the extent that you won’t look like what has happened to you. The fire of God in your life is a weapon against the scars and pains of yesterday. Beloved, God says, light the fire and let it burn within you. Fan the fire of God in you into flames. Light the fire through studying and meditating on the word; light the fire by building up your faith and praying in the Holy Ghost. Don’t allow anything to make your spirit man cold. Refuse any coldness in your prayer life or study life. Turn on the fire of God in you, and let the fire burn every negative Identity. Pray with me, “Lord, light Your fire in me,and may Your Fire in me burn any trace of a negative past in Jesus name. Enjoy a Wonderful Wednesday!
