...........And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree: And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger: For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing. Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them. And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal...........2 kings 17:9-16.......... Lesson: A leaders sin is a leading sin.......Elah been king did all that pleases him raising and worshiping idols........He led Israel again into captivity of idol worship and the people did practice their idol worship secretly and built more high places and towers than he had done......... The consequence of doing wrong things openly or secretly is over alarming because there is nothing done under the surface of the earth that is ever hidden from the Almighty God.......... Ex 20:4………….Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:……….. Ex 23:24………….Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images………….. They had made up their minds to do contrary to commandments of God saying thou shall not make any graven or even bow before any image except the Almighty God......... It was a gradual deliberate attempt to go against the standards of the Almighty God......... Lev 26: 23....... If, in spite of all this, you refuse my correction and still go against me; then I too will go against you; and I, yes I, will strike you seven times over for your sins………. Heb 10:26-27..….. For if we deliberately continue to sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but only the terrifying prospect of Judgment, or raging fire that will consume the enemies. ….. The bible reveals when we choose to willingly disobey and disregard God the punishment is much more sore than when done unknowingly........ The reflections: What are the decisions you have made or planning to make in your hearts that are totally contrary to the standard of God......... The Spirit of God keeps bringing conviction upon your heart and every time you have chosen to shrug them off your shoulders........ There is an unseen danger lying ahead of you........ It is high time you give your attention to the conviction and voice of Spirit........ There is a way that seem right and perfect before a man but the end thereof is perdition....... Pr 14:12........There is a way that seems right to a man,But its end is the way of death.......... Jer 11:20.........But, O LORD Almighty, you who judge righteously and test the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance upon them, for to you I have committed my cause. Jer 17:10.........I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve. The slightest of all disobedience by Gods standard is an outright disobedience........Its high time you make a turn around that is genuine and resolute to denounce your old ways........ Remember you and I will give an account of all we did while in the flesh before the just God..........There will be no excuse at that very moment........Now Jesus is waiting for you....... Come and receive divine pardon and forgiveness of all your past ignorance and sins.........Promise never to go back into your old practices and ask for grace to live daily triumphantly........ Prayer: O Lord what makes a man turn deaf hears and chose to do his own will against your Word crush it out of our minds by the power of the Cross and your blood.........in Jesus name........Amen.
