…Another Bright Star in the Sky Tonight… Last Summer we rescued a sweet, 10 year old girl from the Orange County Shelter. She was abandoned by her family in deplorable condition. She was 58 pounds, most of her hair was missing, she had urine burns and sores all over her body. Left behind by others we said yes…we immediate got Barbie to the vet and found her an amazing foster mom. We didnt think she was going to make it 2 weeks. but she started thriving. She got up to her lab fighting weight of 80 pounds and was on an amazing adventure cross country with her foster mom. When they returned from their adventures Barbie, now known as Camilles foster mom became a failure…yep, she joined the best club EVER! Earlier this week Camis mom let us know that one of her many lumps had ruptured and it was confirmed cancer…she went down hill fast…this is from Kristi her mom… Oh Camille, my sweet girl with the cheesy lab grin. Although someone didnt take care of you in your senior years as they should have; their neglect became my blessing. Oh the adventures we packed into 5 months! I will never take a road trip across the country again without remembering how much we fun we had! Camille had a tumor burst on Thursday and I took her home from the vet. Friday we hung out and her butt got scratched until my arms hurt, made a cheeseburger run, and took a nice walk. This morning I made her waffles and bacon for breakfast and on the way to the vet we stopped for sausage mc muffins. With a belly full of her favorite things, I was there with her as she made her way to a place with no pain. I know that she had so many friends meet her to play! I know that when I foster these senior dogs that my time with them is always shorter than it should be. It doesnt make it any easier to say goodbye....Im am so glad that I was the one who was able to be loved by this remarkable friend. RIP Camille...I will look up and see another bright star in the sky tonite.
