‘Architecture has bright future’ The Managing Partner, Consultative Collaborative Partnership, a firm of architects and engineers, Mr. Femi Williams, has said that there is excellent future for architecture and the building profession in the country. Williams, who spoke at the unveiling of the firm’s 25th anniversary logo in Lagos, added that professionals as well as firms only needed to sharpen their service delivery, expand their frontiers and scope of services to reap the benefits. He said, “Our country should give opportunity to good architects to express themselves taking into consideration environmental factors and green architecture. Our educational institutions must also be re-oriented to produce good graduates to be able to compete with our foreign colleagues. “With new land mass like Eko Atlantic, Orange Island, Banana Island and many new areas opening up, old area becoming more densely populated or changes in the land use of areas, there is ample opportunity of work for a thriving firm. There is certainly a bright future ahead for the profession.” Williams said the company which was incorporated in 1994 aimed to become an internationally acclaimed multi-disciplinary consulting firm in the built industry. “We are expecting to be ISO-9001 certified by the first quarter of 2015 and we are training ourselves and improving our software and hardware to be in the forefront of green architecture.” he stated. Unveiling the plans for the company’s 25th anniversary scheduled for April 2015, the Founding and Managing Partner, Mr. Tayo Babalakin, said the celebration was aimed at acknowledging the sustainability of a multi-disciplinary company in a challenging society. “We hope to promote and encourage young professionals to establish partnership firms; fulfil part of our corporate social responsibility by giving back to the society and rewarding our dedicated staff members,” he said. According to him, the celebration will include a charity walk in February to culminate in a visit to an orphanage and a gala night in April. 9japroperty.ng/main/category/news/%E2%80%98architecture-has-bright-future%E2%80%99
