.As many of you know, I love to entertain and enlighten yall. I am however, a very private and protective of my close friends & family (even when we disagree) kind of guy. You will never see me dis my family or friends on here, I loathe drama. I am loyal to a fault. I have but a handful of extremely close friends, from a myriad of professions (sports, entertainment, political, LEOs, media, etc...). Yall know about Joey and youll be seeing me post a tribute or two or three or...about him. Another of my very close friends is a man who, without giving away his age, was just hitting puberty when this video was taken. This is one of his favorite artists/writers as well as one of mine. This close friend is very well known in the radio industry but what very few people know is that he is also an extremely talented songwriter, a great father and husband...and someone I enjoy being so close to. He would kick off the rush hour afternoon drive home on Fridays with his rendition and sing-a-long to this song. To this day, even though hes down in New Mexico, when I talk with people about him...they remember his humor, his knowledge and that he started off their weekend with this song...He was there, at Providence Hospital for my 13+ hour lifesaving surgery. We have been there for so many personal and professional things, for each other. I love this man and who he is, how he represents his industry. Please join me in wishing Scott Simon a very happy birthday!!! Yes, the same Scott you heard on both KWJJ/The Wolf AND KUPL here in Portland, OR. He is no doubt one of the funniest and most accomplished radio dudes in the industry. I was hoping for Joey to meet him before he passed away last week, but he got to hear all about Scott. My shot glass collection is awaiting his return to Vancouver, so he and another very close friend and I can have an overnight in the backyard. Happy Birthday kid, youre still younger than me but I love you all the same...just gotta ask, why You Never Even Called Me By Name?
