[As reported in many Western media], if the Chinese Government is going to allow bloodshed in Hong Kong [over Occupy Central]…many foreign capital, led by the United States, will move to another city in the Asia-Pacific Region as their new off-shore financial centre, like Singapore. First, this is because Singapore is an English-speaking country. But the most important reason is that Singapore is a member of the British Commonwealth, and has the rule of law. Of course, Singapore isn’t a true democracy, but its leaders are Lee Kuan Yew and Lee Hsien Loong. Although they [by the virtue of the fact that they’re only two Prime Ministers of Singapore] have control of Temasek [Singapore’s state investment firm], Lee Kuan Yew doesn’t engage in corruption. His wife doesn’t have tons of Prada nor Hermes products. The children of Lee Hsien Loong don’t drive Ferrari or Porsche on Orchard Road. These things are slowly convincing the West that the level of citizenry of Singapore isn’t only better than Mainland China, but even Hong Kong. As a country, Singapore has a sound state-of-mind, and doesn’t have the “victim complex.” Lee Kuan Yew never said that foreign powers are trying to ruin the country. Although Singapore has some issues with neighbouring countries, they won’t constantly mention it…When Singapore has issues with Malaysia, such as supply of drinking water, Lee Kuan Yew won’t accuse the Malays in Singapore of colluding with Malaysia…Why? Because both Prime Ministers Lee don’t have mental disorders, and “victim complex.” In their world, everything is normal…Given Singapore’s geography, being surrounded by Muslim countries, they should’ve more reasons to have “victim complex,” but they don’t. This is what impresses people about Singapore, as they’ll see that Singapore is a civilized country. Lee Kuan Yew…is a graduate of Cambridge University, is a “higher-class” Chinese person, and a banana as well (yellow on the outside, white on the inside). Thus, when people like him are in power, they’ve intelligence, heart and vision. Most importantly, he doesn’t have any emotional attachment to China, only strategic calculations. This is cold-hearted, British-style logical thinking.
