Party is overshadowed by those in power and the government, she said while announcing her resignation from the BJP at her Anand Nagar residence on Saturday morning. The former member of Parliaments statement is being seen as an apparent dig at the state of affairs in Chhattisgarh BJP where chief minister Raman Singh is virtually running a one man show. Mrs Shukla, a former national president of the BJP Mahila Morcha, said the party did not take her into confidence on any party matters and even BJP president Rajnanth Singh refused to talk to her. She said she had already submitted her resignation to partys organizational secretary Ramlal. I wanted to contest the assembly poll from Beltara constituency. But, the party had forced me to contest from Korba Lok Sabha constituency, she said adding that I have no other plans. Now, I will spend time with my family. The state BJP had made all known and unknown people in the party as observers. I had served the party for 32 years and held important positions in the organizations. Now, a situation has come that I realized that I am no use for the party, she added.
