#AttemptedHijacking - Rondebosch East Residents last night there was an attempted hijacking in Heatherley road in Rondebosch East at around 8pm. The resident was confronted in his garage as he pulled in his motor vehicle by two hijackers. The other hijackers blocked off the driveway and the other two demanded the keys and wanted money. Luckily other members of the family were alerted by the confrontation in the garage and this frightened off the hijackers as they entered through a leading door. The hijackers however at a distance of about 15metres fired 2 shots as they fled, narrowly missing the family. Neighbours and the LanRoE neighbourhood watch were alerted via the WhatsApp street committee and was quickly on the scene. Neighbours we need to remind all residents to report any suspicious vehicles and persons to the LanRoE NHW and the Lansdowne Police Station.
