** Australian Immigraiton News Updates ** Update on Accountants : It has previously been announced that the occupation of Accountant might be removed from the Skilled Occupations List from 1 July 2014. A decision has not yet been made, but applicants may consider a backup strategy just in case the occupation is removed. There are a number of different occupations besides Accountant General ANZSCO 221111 which may be possible for people with accounting degrees. In addition, Accountants would still be eligible for state sponsorship, even if the occupation is removed from the Skilled Occupations List. Finally, the change would only come into effect from 1 July 2014, and applications lodged before this date would not be affected.
