***Available for Adoption!*** TO BE KILLED TOMORROW (Friday, September 5, 2014) A volunteer writes: I am head over heels about Roxi….And I know that no matter what, I will always love her and remember her forever. She is my dream girl, a small Rotie (a tiny bit chunky) with lovely markings, playful, affectionate and lively. Roxi did not appear to be all that appealing when I first met her…..All scared in her kennel, afraid to walk though her ward, frozen by the barking of the other dogs. We eventually made it to the yard where she was shy at first, stressed and anxious then all of a sudden, transformed into a happy sausage… What a smile, what an excitement, running happily free through the yard, even mouthing my hand…Thats a nono. She took treats gently from my hand after a while, when she felt more comfortable with me. She came when I called her and rested on my lap, her eyes looking almost devoted and certainly full of love…I melted completely. I so dislike my building for not allowing certain breeds (although still lucky it allows some dogs…). I would take Roxi as my pet in a second. Roxi was born at home and lived her whole life with the same owner who left with us glowing comments about his pooch. He stresses though that she is very sensitive to noise and commotion. She has been well cared for. Her coat is shiny and she looks healthy beside some issue with her left eye. She has such a great and engaging smile. Roxi is with us at the Manhattan Care Center, a beautiful medium size Rotie who behaves timid and tense at first and then blooms into a puppy like doggie once she feels safe and loved. Rotie lovers, do not pass Roxi over. She is the one, the one you always dreamed of. Roxi is waiting for you..
