***Available for adoption by a member of the public!*** A volunteer writes: My first Billie sighting was of a handsome little guy curled up in a blanket in his kennel. He likes to make a nest of his bedding and I knew this dog would be special. And he is! Shyly accepting my leash, he stepped out of his kennel easily and out the door we went. Likely housetrained he went potty immediately, let me put a coat on him and off we went to the park. His leash manners are lovely and while hes quiet and shy, hes also friendly and happy when attention is paid. Off leash he comes when I call him, after giving the pen a quick exploration, rolling into my lap for some cuddles. His tail is tucked as he hasnt completely lost his shyness, but its clear that hes grateful for the love. He cuddles close and then rolls over for a belly rub, closing his eyes with the pleasure of it all. I love this dog! Coming to life when I toss a tennis ball he gives chase with a happy and eagerly wagging tail. After we play he comes back in for more cuddles and Im happy to sit there snuggling with him. Back in his kennel I give him an extra blanket with which to make a nest, and sure enough when I pass by again hes resting with his self made pillow. Billie is an awesome little guy who needs a person or family who knows to take it slow and let him build trust. The unconditional love that he will show for his new people cannot be measured, and we hope that hell get that opportunity quickly. If youre patient and gentle and ready to be loved forever and ever, Billie is the dog for you. Another volunteer writes: This gorgeous little guy is apparently so housetrained he peed for so long once outside I was afraid hed topple over! He looked up so happily when he was done, wagged his tail and off for a walk we go. Hes friendly, playful, sits for treats, sits to be leashed, sits at a curb waiting for a light to change; this boy has been taught nicely. Going into a play bow for a pup in an adjoining pen, its clear Billie would love a play date. Getting a quick case of the zoomies, this little guy is adorable to watch as he then goes back to the gate to wag his tail at his new friend. Affectionate, gentle, easy and adorable, Billie loves to cuddle and give kisses. The perfect anecdote to a day of blahs is some loving with Billie. Hes hoping youll stop to meet him when you visit, as no day is complete without a hug from this little guy.
