#BUT GOD KNOWS MY HEART! There are many who love to use the verse in 1 SAMUEL 16:7,For the LORD does not see as man sees,For man look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. They have taken this concept far beyond its intent and way out of context. Based on the misunderstanding of this scripture, they say things like, But GOD knows my heart .Surely, since HE is a loving GOD, HE knows I meant Well. Yes HE does know our hearts.And that makes it even worse! Let us look at what our heart are really like for a moment...The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9:- The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked,who can know it? PROVERBS 28: 26 says:- He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool. GOD knowing our heart wont help us...The Bible also mention that we can have a heart that is froward(PSALM101:4), imagines mischief (PSALM 95:10), That is proud (PSALM101:5), that utters perverse things (PROVERBS 23:33), that is desolate (PSALM143:4), that holds the seven abominations ( JOB 27:6),That is evil ( JEREMIAH 3:17)That Satan can fill. So in stating,GOD knows my heart, we infer that it should help our case. But as you can see from the above verses,If GOD were to go by our hearts,We would all be in deep mess..However,HE still loves us and is always seeking to reveal HIMSELF to us in spite of knowing our hearts. David said in PSALM 51:10:- Create in me a clean heart,O GOD. Knowing GOD is the only way we can have a pure heart..HE will give us that heart that seeks after HIM. Through the reading of HIS Word,Our minds are renewed and we become more like JESUS..Our foolish concepts begin to fall away.. Many christians dont read the Bible, and their thoughts and hearts can also be deceived..Learning HIS word we get down into our hearts,The more loving,compassionate, and forgiving we become. PSALM 119:10-11 says:- With my heart have I sought thee:O Let me not warder from thy commandments.Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee(kjv)...A godly heart is a heart that desires to serve HIM and that loves HIM!
