OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION Under the overall supervision of the International Batch Plant Monitor Engineer, the incumbent will be required to work as a member of a team of Engineers and Administrative staff for the successful implementation of all of the MMU project activities. GENERAL FUNCTIONS Purpose and Scope of Assignment: -To be available on site at the concrete batching plants for material testing; -Closely monitor the raw materials used and ensure proper material testing, taking into consideration tolerances that are accumulated through the construction process; -Generate/maintain relevant records on Materials Tracking System (MTS), upload supporting photos on (MTS), accurate filing on site and in the office. -Verify supply and stock levels by cross checking the supply records and stock levels of the Materials Tracking System (MTS). -Other duties as required ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE Education: -Bachelor`s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or other Materials-related Engineering or any other related field. Work Experience: -Minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience of undertaking measurements/estimating in a construction Materials. -Experience in Construction material mixing; -Proven experience and ability to confirm tolerances between quantities of raw material used and output product; -Experience of construction procedures and methods in the Middle East. -Must have excellent IT skills in the application of computers in the above duties, including work processing, spread sheet and bill of quantities; Word; Outlook. -Understanding the importance of business Procedures. -Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team. -Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people. -Understanding of Health & Safety issues at work and on industrial sites. Key Competencies: Professionalism: Strong analytical and organisational skills; Eye for detail and accuracy; Experience with database software/web applications; The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines; Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act; Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing. Client Orientation: Ability to identify and analyse client security needs and develop solution specifications to meet business requirements. Communications: Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts both orally and in writing, in a clear, concise manner. Ability to formulate detailed technical reports. Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations with people in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
