~~Begin Rant~~ While on lunch, I ran across the post for ESPNs Superfan Contest Finalists. One of them is a diehard Arkansas Razorbacks fan. What differs this finalist from the others isnt just his favorite school, but the young man also appears to have Downs Syndrome. My first thought is how AWESOME! Upon clicking on the photo to vote for this young man, not because of his handicap, but for the story that went along with him, I saw the comments that had been placed on his photo. The first one read I can count to potato, followed by several others making fun of him and chastising anyone that stood up for him as lacking a sense of humor or butthurt. Really America ?!? Making fun of the mentally or physically impaired of society is now deemed OK and funny? As if the struggle with racism isnt bad enough in our Nation, lets poke fun at those that are born different, or appear different as well. This type of behavior disgusts me to the core. How funny would it be if it was your family member, better yet, your Child that was different?? Would you be so quick to make jokes then?? ~~End Rant~~
