...Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. - 1 Samuel 15:22b Pastor William Duma, the famous Zulu preacher from South Africa, was a man who loved to obey God promptly, and as a result, God used him most powerfully in ministry. He had a renowned healing ministry and was even known to have raised the dead. One day he was traveling on a very crowded bus. People were squashed in tightly, their luggage, suitcases and crates of live chickens tied to the roof. The engine was screaming as the bus flew through the sugar cane fields of Zululand, dust rising thickly in the air. "Get off the bus," the Holy Spirit said to him. He was in the middle of nowhere it seemed, but the small bespectacled man stood up immediately and pulled the emergency cord. The driver slammed on the brakes and people fell forward as the bus came to a screaming halt. "Why did you do that?" the driver screamed. "Because God told me to get off," replied the mild pastor. "Are you insane?" shouted the driver, pushing him violently off of the bus and taking off again at top speed, leaving William Duma stranded in the middle of the sugar cane fields. My dear friend, that bus went round the next corner and had a head-on collision witha truck. The seat Pastor Duma had occupied was crushed beyond recognition. He would have been killed instantly if he had not obeyed God. Today, if the Holy Spirit prompts you to do something, however silly it might seem, just do it. Be obedient to what His voices tells yoy without question.
