#BlackLivesMatter For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die. ~ Edward Moore Ted Kennedy We people of color are all potential Michael Browns...in many places across this country people of color and the LGBTQ community are still abused and battered by law enforcement. I deeply and sincerely respect law enforcement. In one of my first jobs in the insurance industry, I was an agent selling discounted auto and home insurance to law enforcement. I was invited and honored to take part in many ride-alongs with law enforcement. My deference and high regard for law enforcement grew tremendously. I admire and respect law enforcement; they put their lives on the line for us. They are one of the reasons we live in a civil and lawful society. Unfortunately, there are some bad apples out there. This whole situation smells like a very rotten apple. A friend whom I sincerely respect and admire was upset with me because I posted in favor of Michael Brown and his parents. I felt his post on my timeline was uninformed, misguided and ill-advised. Though I hope we will continue to be friends, I deleted his post. I responded thusly: “I sincerely respect you and your opinion. Though we dont we see much of each other lately; I consider you a friend and a well-informed individual. What you have written above is based on what you have heard/seen in various media outlets, including the internet, cable, newsprint and magazines; etc. Therefore you do not have information enough to reach conclusions either. Particularly, since there are over 5K pages of grand jury info to read. I will be reading the info once it is posted (today) and you should also. Let transparency be our judge. I will also do research on how the info was presented to the members of the grand jury. Many attorney friends I have spoken to have indicated the info was not presented properly and slanted towards the police officer. As you know, this was not a trial; only a search for probable cause, a very low threshold for bringing charges. Right now, I feel there was enough evidence for probable cause. However, I am not ready to reach a full conclusion. I will comment when I am ready. Meanwhile, with no disrespect, I am removing your comments. Please share your opinion with us when you are better informed. Let’s have coffee soon”... I Shall Be Released written by Bob Dylan as his gift to the civil rights movement is performed beautifully here by Maroon 5... I Shall Be Released ~ Maroon 5 They say everything can be replaced, They say every distance is not near, So I remember every face, Of every man who put me here, I see my light come shinin, From the west down to the east, Any day now, any day now, I shall be released, They say every man needs protection, They say that every man must fall, Yet I swear I see my reflection, Somewhere so high above this wall, I see my light come shinin, From the west down to the east, Any day now, any day now, I shall be released, Now yonder stands a man in this lonely crowd, A man who swears hes not to blame, All day long I hear him shouting so loud, Just crying out that he was framed, I see my light come shinin, From the west down to the east, Any day now, any day now, I shall be released…
