“Broken” What in your life frustrates you? We all have those - TopicsExpress

“Broken” What in your life frustrates you? We all have those points in our lives that we would just as soon have done with and go on. We struggle with sin, hurt, health, finances, family and a host of other things that seem to drag us down. Sometimes we fight against them, sometimes we just give in and very often we have very little control over them. Let me break this down to something a little more close to home. Jon and I spent most of the day Friday changing the water pump out in his pickup. He was on his way to Rockwall and it was leaking water so he turned around at Childress and came home. He didn’t want to, he really wanted to go and see Kelsie but he knew it was safer to come home. Trust me, he wasn’t real happy. We replaced the water pump, mostly he, and it worked just fine, except for one problem, there is an upper thermostat pipe connection that just snaps in with an O ring, sounds easy, breaks O ring, don’t know this till you start the engine after putting everything back together and then, LEAK! So now we are working on getting one part no one has. So what does this have to do with our spiritual walk? One part is all it takes to sometimes put us out of commission. One broken heart, one bruised ego, one unforgiving thought and we have lost our connection with the God who created us, with Jesus. The good news is this, Jesus doesn’t have to order new parts for us, He has them in stock. Even death cannot separate us from His love and power. “I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.” We may be broken, but He can fix us, He wants to fix us, and He loves us so much He gave His life in exchange for ours.
