"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" -Philippians 3:13-14 This reminded me of a sermon months ago that one of the Pastors at our church gave. The sermon was on running the race, and striving to keep pushing forward. There are all these weights on our ankles, slowing us down. The weights of unknowns, the weights of fear, hurts and disappointments. The crazy thing is, WE hold the keys to our shackles! We can unlatch and run towards what lies ahead. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us," -Hebrews 12:1 My devotional this morning said that "YOU, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light" -Psalm 18:28 Nothing can keep us down, because the LORD brings his light to everything, and helps us to push forward "towards the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" in ALL circumstances. "I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called. What a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his holy people." -Ephesians 1:18
