“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say that I am?” Matthew 14:15 That really is the question is isn’t. Jesus asked his disciples who the people thought he was. They replied that the people thought that maybe he was John the Baptist, or Elijah, or Jeremiah, or one of the other prophets. Then he asked the disciples whom they believed that he was and Peter replied,” You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” That really is the question for us as well. Who we believe that Jesus is will settle are place for eternity. Few people these days doubt that Jesus Christ lived on earth, the historical evidence is too overwhelming. What the debate is about is who Jesus was? mormons for example believe that Jesus was the spirit brother of lucifer while muslims believe that Jesus was a great islamic prophet of allah. Ask the average person on the street and they will tell you that Jesus was a good man or a great teacher The Scripture clearly shows us several things about Jesus: Jesus had power over nature, he had power over death, and he was omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He demonstrated the divine attribute to forgive sin. The crowning demonstration of who he is is his resurrection from the dead. Jesus Christ is God in human flesh. You can believe God’s Holy Scripture or you can believe the revisionist history of some of the world’s religions. No one can make you believe something you do not want to so the choice really is yours. God lets you make your decisions and he will honor the choice you make. When you stand before God, which would you, rather be: Someone standing in the shadow of Jesus Christ or standing on their own trying to justify their life. If you make the choice that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and died for your sins in your place then God, through his mercy and grace, will grant you eternal life in heaven with him. On the other hand if you choose to follow the world’s religions and views than God will grant you what you have chosen: eternal judgment and separation from him. The time to choose for Christ is now. When you stand before God it will be too late Who do YOU say that He is?
