***CALLING ALL ANGELS!***PLEASE LIKE! PLEASE SHARE! PLEASE RALLY WITH ME!***URGENT! URGENT! URGENT!*** Dear Puppy Lovers, Apparently today is going to be a difficult one. Sometimes I wonder if God has a sense of humor, and he gets a giggle out of constantly testing me...........Anyway.......... 15 phone calls later..... I think I have a handle on our emergencies. Youcaring is being a pain and wont let me use paypal to create a fundraiser today... and the other donation sites charge 5% or better... so I updated our last fundraiser to include todays emergencies in an effort to avoid being hit with fees. Ive added the info to the youcaring (under updates) and will share it here too. This isnt how I expected to spend Christmas Eve, but this is rescue and life is what happens when you are busy making plans. Update: Weezer came to us as what was supposed to be a temporary foster situation while his person was hospitalized. Sadly, he is now abandoned by that person. Luckily, we were able to locate a FURever home for Weezer and send him for vetting/neuter. While at that appointment we had him tested for heartworms and he is positive. As a homeless pup not on preventatives, this isnt surprising. We are now racing to get him treated so that he can head to NY with his new mom when she relocates at the end of January. (Quote from vet: $700) Rigsby is one of the Florida 11. He managed to push his way past a visitor at PA foster Moms house, and was gone overnight. Thank God he returned this morning, but he is injured. There was a pretty substantial gash on his leg. The vet thinks he got into a scuffle with another animal. He has received medical care (x-rays, stitches, staples, a drain, antibiotics and pain meds) and will be heading home shortly. We are just thankful he was able to come back, and that he will be OK in the end. (Bill: $1396.21) Im in SERIOUS need of a Christmas miracle. Or a superhero. Or something. I have already called the vet for Rigsby to give them my credit card so he can leave as soon as hes ready. (sending a HUGE THANK YOU to PA Foster Mom for spending her Christmas Eve at the ER vet... you are AMAZING.) Please rally with me.
