★ CLOVER - A0993073 @ the Manhattan NY High-Kill Shelter A volunteer writes: Clover is sound asleep in his kennel. I call him but he does not hear me. I tap on his shoulder and he is quick to be on his four. His eyes are cloudy, his coat still shiny. He may need dental care. Clover comes toward me and lets me pet his head. I leash him, pick him up and surprisingly, after some hesitation, Clover walks in one straight line, even eliminating profusely once. He seems really fine with other dogs, very curious of them as a matter of fact, watching intensely two police bringing two large Pities. Clover was found as a stray, all alone in the street. This alone, apart from his old age, is a heart breaker. I think he barely understands what is going on. Still, I can see that he does appreciate close human contact and some entertainment...I felt quite drawn to Clover. He is quite still with us mentally. Clover needs a hero, though. A person who understands and likes the elderly and willing to make sure that Clover last years are really full of love and dignity. Clover is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.
