“CONNECTED OR DISCONNECTED” Who are we? After having a conversations with a another man of the soil Montserrat. I felt somewhat sad as I was lead to believe that I am not connected to my homeland and the land of my birth. It provokes me to think that I know nothing of what is truly happening in my country the land that I love and call my home. I think of all the memories I have growing up in a country that was peaceful and the people love each other with their differences. Am I to believe that because I lost everything that I called home and grow to love, and respect, I am to think of myself as “DISCONNECTED?” Because I am not living there? In my distress I just thought I should write while thinking. So having to leave my home because we lost everything and my parents thought it would be the best thing to do at the time and now living in the UK how CONNECTED AM I? So I ask these questions that I am thinking of. 1. How do I a Montserratans stay connected to his Country? 2. What information to I believe that makes me connect to my country? 3. If I invest in my country am I connected even I live outside of her? 4. Who is word is truthful that is in communication in Montserrat? Government of Montserrat, ZJB, Family and friends, Montserrat Reporter or Mni Alive? I believe that I once heard a saying that goes “You can take a man out of his country but you can’t take the country out of the man” My fellow people that are living not in Montserrat but outside I would like to ask you are you connected and if so how do you know you are? Our Vote is our voice and we can’t vote so I help me to think how do we have a say ? Is it only social media we can go and make statuses and videos ect. I know I sing this song loud everyday by the late Arrow “Oh Montserrat sweet sweet home” Please help me to understand how to get connected.
