*** CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE IF YOU CAN HELP LEWIS TONIGHT *** A volunteer writes: Well helloooo handsome! From his adorably floppy ears to the tip of his wagging tail stump, Lewis is a big dog connoisseurs dream come true, a sensitive yet friendly hunk wholl turn heads and win hearts wherever he goes. Hes happy to see me when I stop by his den and even happier that Ive come bearing treats, mouthing a biscuit from my hand as softly as possible before letting me leash him with no fuss at all. Lewis regal looks are matched by a noble bearing and some very gentlemanly manners and hes seemingly house trained, sits on request, comes when called and is nicely responsive to my voice - from my end of the rope I might as well be walking a Corgi! The only time Lewis pulls is when he spots a potential doggie friend (and then only if theyre mid-size or larger, small dogs are almost ignored) but hell listen to my command to stay or allow me to walk him past at a distance, looking back longingly over his shoulder as his tail stump wags a gentle goodbye to his pal. Back in the yard hes glad for some free time and jogs about the pen drool-sniffing over each and every inch of ground before coming back to the bench for a full body massage, heavy on behind-the-ear and butt scratches please! Lewis is chill with wearing a bandanna but he loathes being tethered and while he does sit for treats and pose nicely once I get out the camera, its only a few minutes before hes jumping and shouting to let me know modeling is not his cup of tea and could we please stop the shoot now? Not everyone is a born performer and though he aced the dog-to-dog and resource sharing portions of his behavior evaluation, Lewis was not keen on being stared at and tried to tell his assessor it was time to back off the only way he knew how, by fronting like the tough guy he really isnt at heart. Patient, loving and experienced hands are what this 83 pound sweetie needs to guide him and for that lucky person who appreciates the Cane Corso temperament in all its beautiful complexity, a lifetime of loyalty and affection await! Lewis runs out of time at noon tomorrow. PLease help him right away, if you can.
