**COURTESY POST** PLEASE SHARE Last week, we went to Wallingford (CT) Animal Shelter to visit a dog that is truly special. His name is Kona and he has been at shelter since June -- seven long months. They have taken care of him to the best of their ability, but I know we can all agree...a shelter is no place for a dog. Kona is deserving of a warm home, a comfy couch to curl up on and a family to call his own. Kona is a 9 year old Pit who, sadly, got into something in his previous home which has now left him with limited use of his back legs. He can walk and stand, but he is wobbly and shaky and falls over himself when he walks. He also has some digestive issues so the shelter is looking for a home that will continue his diet regimen and let him out every few hours ideally. As you can imagine, Kona isnt getting much adoption interest yet. Wallingford is a smaller shelter, he is a senior, and now as a result of all he has been through, he is a special needs pup. To say he has been dealt a tough hand is an understatement, but is remains a very gentle, low-key, friendly guy who is deserving of a forever home. In the short hour that we spent with him, he was so sweet and the shelter staff confirmed that he has been great with all of the people that come and go from the shelter. The staff also believes that Kona would be able to live with another respectful/low-key dog once properly introduced. Please share Kona and, if you can provide him with the home he so deserves, please contact Wallingford Animal Control at (203) 294-2180 / wallingfordanimalcontrol/
