[Cairo Scholars] Job Vacancy: Project officer at Beit Al Karma Consulting Level Junior or Senior level Position Details Position Project Officer Reports to Vice President – Business Development or Managing Director Business Line Democratic Governance Region Egypt Contact Info info@bk-eg bk-eg Job Summary The Project Officer is the Project Manager of the assigned project / program. The project officer is the focal point of all communications with Beit Al Karma’s client in all technical-related and administrative activities except financial matters. The project officer is responsible to ensure quality of the project’s reports and other deliverables. He / she is responsible on the timely delivery and cost control, in coordination with the Operations Manager, of the all project’s deliverables well as ensuring client’s satisfaction. All reporting requirements are the responsibility of the Project Manager. Duties & Responsibilities • Responsible for the high quality implementation of the program ● Contributes to planning and implementation of various activities as required by the program ● Oversee the progress and development of the activities and ensure its high quality implementation according to plan • Manage all project’s consultant(s) in order to get from them quality input with rich technical contents and analysis. Ensure timely delivery and quality reporting including Beit Al Karma branding and reporting styles • Directly and closely communicate with the client in all technical matters and deliverables • Prepare Projects Calendar / Schedules, track, follow up and take necessary actions to respect deadlines. Keeps thorough records, maintains a clear and organized filing system • Review / edit / enhance and / or re-write project’s reports including 1) report outline 2) inception report 3) draft report 4) final report 5) executive summaries and any other reporting requirements as per the specific client’s demands • Prepare and present all project’s required presentations with the client and other stakeholders • Ensure that deliverables are per the Contract, TOR / RFP and the project’s proposal • Coordinate with the client or client’s partner the detailed itinerary for the field work. Close coordination with the Operations Manager is required for any logistical arrangements and financial support needed • Manage all field activities including field work data collection, information collection, workshops, conferences, etc. • Ensure reliability, validity and quality of filed data (Primary Findings) • Prepare quantitative and qualitative analysis, conclusions and recommendations • Coordinate with the Managing Director / Vice President for any contractual support needed to settle issues with the Client • Coordinate with the print materials and communication officer, if needed, for the quality presentation of the Final reports, deliverables and products • Assist in writing-up of the proposal and preparation of tender documents for various clients • Participate in the delivery of training sessions as a professional trainer and expert • Assist in all projects closure activities including the preparation of project fact sheets, poster, and lessons learnt • Participate in field work, governorate-based activities Qualification • Bachelor Degree in Social Studies, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies, International relations, Development Communication • Monitoring and evaluation training and / or project management cycle training and / or Proposal and Report Writing Training Experience • 3- 7 years experience in designing and / or implementing development projects including local democratic governance, socio-economic development, youth empowerment and / or civil society strengthening • At least one project experience in the evaluation and monitoring field • Experience in development communication and information campaigns is a plus • Experience in delivering training courses, workshops and seminars Specific skills required • Excellent writing capabilities in English • Excellent knowledge experience in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel ● Experience in organizing events such as press conferences, workshops and meetings ● Strong inter-personal and team working skills including the ability to liaise and communicate with team members ● Demonstrated capacity to take initiative and pay attention to details ● Ability to plan workloads and demonstrate accountability for outputs ● Good organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure Person Specification (Personality Attributes) • Work under pressure • Reliable, independent and respect deadlines • Cooperative, modest and possesses hospitality personality within a demanding business environment [end of document]
