*Cake/Buffet Bookings and Enquiries.. After one the BIGGEST weekends Ive had, I have come home to nearly 20 messages and emails over the last 24 hours...and realised maybe not everyone knows the more information you include, the more I can help you... All cake and Buffets enquiries REALLY need to include the following information DATE cake or Buffet is required (the date you want to pickup/deliver) HOW many it is needed to feed or cater to (is it desert or cake serves) WHAT you want it to look like, themed around or a picture is great LOCATION please look where I am located (Skye 3977) and include your location for delivery or if you want a Buffet where it has to be set up.. And lastly if you have a budget, PLEASE be upfront and let me know and I will do my best to work in with it to help you create something you want.. In saying that PLEASE be realistic.. a specialty cake is not cheap, although I am very well priced for the time effort and quality of what you will receive for my cakes, I too am a business, a mum and a fully registered council approved and insured kitchen, and I have overheads to adhere to as well...Cake decorating and Buffet supplies are NOT cheap !.. If you want me to produce a cake for you, bake it from scratch with great quality ingredients, and spend a minimum of 10 hours making decorations, baking, then decorating your cake, then spend a minimum of $70 on ingredients boards and boxes, please dont tell me you have $100 to spend on a 2 tier cake... the reality is, youre asking me to work for less than $3 p/h.. I am more than aware my prices are not for everyone, but please understand my cakes are novelty cakes, they are time consuming and my time is worth something too... you would actually be shocked to learn what my hourly rate is, it really is a labour of love to decorate cakes.... hence keeping my other job, lol. I now spend several hours an evening answering questions queries and quotes, and would really appreciate if you would like me to spend the time putting together a quote for you, please include as much information as possible... Please note I have done some re evaluating of my time and bookings that I have taken this year, and decided I have to be a LOT stricter on the number of bookings I am taking on per week... The reality is that only HALF of the bookings I have from this year, would be able to rebook for next year, and thats not allowing for the new orders I receive almost daily... At this point I am FULLY BOOKED FOR 2014 !! I AM JUST ABOUT BOOKED OUT FOR JANUARY, FEBRUARY MARCH and TILL 14TH APRIL 2015 !! Please save your dates asap to avoid disappointment... Buffets in particular are hours and hours of sourcing, setting up, putting decorations together etc... less than a months notice is probably not going to get you a booking, let alone an availability... Lolly Buffets are not cheap, you cannot get away with giving a decent lolly bag at a party for under $5 per guest... neither can I ! you also then include a cupcake and cake pop or biscuit etc, and youre sitting at about $10 p/p.. add up those costs per person roughly to give you an idea of what youre in for, then remember you havent hired a table cloth, backdrop, jars, scoops, stands, or even decorated it, set it up, had it delivered, or returned yet ! I nearly set aside a whole day to get your buffet packed delivered, set up picked up and washed and cleaned.. it was also another day of designing ,decorating, wrapping items etc.... my buffet is suddenly sounding pretty darn cheap, it is not just lollies Once again, not for everyone, but be realistic, its NOT going to be $100.... Sorry for the long one, but from now on ,all queries that are just how much for this. I will direct you to this posted status to ensure you understand why/what I NEED to do your quote... In saying that, if I am unavailable, please DONT ask me to quote you on it anyway so you can use it for comparing and bargaining against other people ! I really feel strongly against quoting something I cant do for that purpose, its like Target advertising something theyre not selling just so you can bargain with Kmart to get it cheaper !
