#CanIGetAWitness? [I realize Ill be branded a nutjob for this post, but its a small price to pay considering whats been done for me. So be it. Allow me to elaborate...] The burden of witnessing has been laid upon me, friends. Jesus called us to share the Good News with the world & what better way for little ol’ me in little ol’ Williamsburg to reach the world than over the WorldWideWeb . We refer to this burden of witnessing as The Great Commission [Matthew 28:18-20]. I come to you all tonight, not to incite fear and riots. I come tonight with a message of HOPE that I personally have experienced and pray that you all come to know as well. So please dont mistake the following statements for a psychotic rant. I do this with a sober, clear mind and with all my faculties intact. This is definitely a message about HOPE through a personal relationship with Christ. I came upon a link within the past couple hrs. Titles of articles are reminiscent of the National Inquirer. Unfortunately, the site links itself loosely with Christianity by adding the word Christ into the address and referencing Jesus everywhere else. No Scripture or message of salvation. I would weep deeply and rend my clothing in sorrow because of this crap [i.e., the obviously inflammatory & BS nature of the titles and journalism therein], but I shant waste my energy on it. Better things to do, like share the Good News [i.e., Christ is Lord and Savior]... I would laugh heartily at this sites ludicrous nature, but there ARE people out there that believe or want to believe this stuff. It is simultaneously sad & comically tragic [is that even possible??]! Fear abounds in our world and too many are ready to jump on-board with a response to that fear [i.e., leading to defensiveness, mistrust, conflict, hate] or jump off a bridge to escape it... Letting go of fear seems the hardest thing for us to do, yet that is exactly what we MUST do to effect positive change in this world! Showing LOVE above all & toward all, unconditionally, is the ONLY way to dispel fear in our lives and bring people together! And the only way to truly know and share this type of LOVE is to know Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior! I think one of the hardest parts of being a Christian & having to put out the following information [whether its to non-believers OR believers] is that it demands accountability from people; Makes us sound “holier-that-thou”. So many of us are already ridden with guilt and shame [connected heavily with fear], so its easy for people to close their ears, turn a blind eye, or walk away/ignore. I personally believe we are no longer in the End Times, friends. We are in the Last Hours of history. The signs are all around us. Biblical Prophecy is at hand. Numerous places in the Bible talk of things that are happening right now in our world including the social upheaval, unusual astronomical events, blatant persecution of people for being Christians, etc. Never in history has it been this close or obvious. No one knows the time for sure, but Christ’s return draws near. God sent His Son to this world to die as a sacrifice for you and I; His blood has cleansed us; has taken our sins away and allowed us freedom from that bondage of spiritual death [John 3:16]. Gods plan of salvation is simple, friends. Ask Jesus [God] into your heart. Live your life for Him by asking forgiveness of your sins [For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God... - Romans 3:23-26] & by showing others the LOVE he has shown for us [**e.g., kindness; compassion; caring; empathy; welcoming; conveying a sense of belonging & hope to everyone REGARDLESS or who they are, where they come from, what their background is, what kind of life theyve lived or how they are treating us right now** - basic ideas taken from I Corinthians 13]. Give over your worries and cares to him! We CANNOT do this alone! We can only do this with His help! Despite the potential for despair, doubt, and uncertainty in this world, I take great comfort in knowing these things to be true. I state it with urgency because time is short, but most importantly, I come to you in LOVE, friends. Come to know Jesus as your personal Savior. I implore you… A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. - John 13:34,35
