By practicing a cartwheel in your warm-up their are many benefits. The cartwheel helps with upper body strenght, balance and flexiblity. Steps: The first step in doing a cartwheel is making sure you have enough room. Outside on the grass, or on a tummbling mat are perfect places. Have your arms extended towards the sky. While your arms are in the sky your palms should be facing each other. Take a step with your dominate foot the direction you will be giong. For better balance you can turn the dominate foot slightly outward. Lunge forward and look at your hands while you are going towards the ground. Your dominate hand should be placed on the ground first. Then your second hand will touch in a straight line from the first hand. Kick powerfully with you dominate leg so your legs come off the ground. Look at your hands. Land on your non-dominate foot.
