“Christ alone; Cornerstone… Weak made strong; in the Saviors - TopicsExpress

“Christ alone; Cornerstone… Weak made strong; in the Saviors love… Through the storm, He is Lord, Lord of all!” Yep. Night song. And a whole lot more. The use of the cornerstone in ancient buildings was to set the level and the right angle of a structure. It had to be “true” otherwise the building wouldn’t be square or its walls plumb. It had to be “trustworthy” or it could crumble or crush under the weight of the rising walls and lose its alignment value. In our (my) case, and because Jesus is not the cornerstone of a mere structure but the “square and measure and strength” of a church made up of “living stones,” we quickly depart from the architectural metaphor to sing along in the night, or read in the Bible and mentally process the truths that we can feel “safe” in our messes, that in stormy darknesses and hopeless durations we can and will be realigned. What a comfort to know that life cannot take apart those alive in Christ, those who have the Cornerstone! For us the storms that blow; the demands that crush, the struggles we face, the things we miss, only shake what can be shaken so that what can’t be is left behind… That’s why our hope is built on nothing less… take a few minutes to charge up your heart and faith with the song linked below! (And at least listen thru the first two minutes of warm-up to get to the supercharging part! Yep!) https://youtube/watch?v=bV3rYXc152E
