(Cliff notes in the comment section if you dont wanna read this all) Months ago, through the grapevine, I heard a Lobser Bar copycat was about to spawn somewhere. Apparently some people were digging through Lobster Bars garbage to try to find their supplier. Then a few days ago I came across a post on a Zenkimchi about a new Lobster roll place springing up in Garosugil. I read the article to see it said one of the guys had studied in Maine and had teamed up with Park Su-seok, currently Lobster Shack’s executive chef, to craft their own take on traditional Maine- and Connecticut-style rolls along with a few other variations. I thought sure, why not, lets see how this place is and see how different this place is from Lobster Bar. I walk in, seat myself, and no server comes to talk to me for over 5 minutes, but thats fine because Im still waiting for my friend to arrive. However, while waiting, I noticed something familiar. The container they use to hold all the silverware, straws and ketchup is the EXACT same as the one at Lobster Bar. I mean exactly the same, same 6 pack case of Ballast Point (see picture). Wow. At this point, it clicked -- this is probably the same guys who dug through Lobster Bars garbage to find their supplier. Based off the unoriginal name itself Lobster Shack I should have probably figured this out sooner. So, my friend finally arrives and I check out the menu. Its the same type of Lobster rolls as Lobster bar with a slight variety. For example they have orange salsa, sriracha mayo, fresh rench(which is I presume is ranch), spicy curry mayo. The other thing I liked was that they had a few non Lobster items including Fish N chips, a shrimp basket, calamari and Chilli cheese fries. My friend orders The original Maine Style which claims to have just a touch of mayo and I ordered the Sriracha mayo. I normally get the rolls served warm, so I asked if they could make the sriracha mayo served warm instead. The server says he doesnt think thats possible, but I tell him its just the sauce so it shouldnt matter. He goes and asks the kitchen and the kitchen also says they dont wanna do that for me cuz it might taste weird..... alright, so cold it is. We also order calamari and my friend for whatever reason orders one of their 9,000 won lemonades lol So we get our rolls and my friends Original Maine roll comes out drenched in Mayo (see picture), so much for just a touch of mayo. I get my sriracha mayo and was surprised to see it come out with a squid ink bun. The lobster rolls didnt really fit the roll, so I had to eat the very top part off first so I could eat the rest of it like a roll. As I bite into it, I notice there is corn inside of it which I didnt notice earlier as I took pictures (see picture). Nowhere in the description does it say there is corn, so I scraped all that shit out with my fork. I like corn, but not on my pizza or lobster roll lol At this point, we are both almost done with our lobster rolls, so we ask when the calamari is coming out. The server looks at us confused and never ended up putting the calamari order through. At this point, we didnt want to bother waiting any longer so we just left. Its good they have non lobster items because one can only eat so much lobster without getting tired of it, but honestly I have no respect for blatant copycats. Its one thing to open your own restaurant that serves similar food, but this was just a straight rip off of Lobster Bar with a few different sauces. I think Ill keep my business at Lobster Bar, but who knows, if Im in the area I might try one of there other items. Also here is the article about them: koreaherald/view.php?ud=20150116001010
