Climate Change: The Hurricane Myth And once again the media claims of Worst storms ever! are debunked completely. Will we see this in that same media? How about a retraction? Or a simple correction? Its not even an exaggeration... its an outright lie. There are NOT more storms or extreme weather than ever before. Its bullshit and the historical weather data bears that out. Yes, we may be seeing more DAMAGE from these storms, but thats because we have more people than ever living in really BAD places to live in a storm than ever and more dependent than ever on a very fragile infrastructure. Before we had major cities to hit, then yes storms didnt do as much damage. There was nothing to hit and no one to harm! People didnt live on the edge of mudslide-prone hills or in effect UNDERWATER! (Yes the areas that flooded in New Orleans during Katrina were built below sea level and kept dry only artificially by pumps. People back 100 years ago didnt see a reason to live below sea level.) The storms themselves havent changed. Our society has become worse and worse at dealing with them. Thats not natures fault. Its ours. And it has nothing to do with climate change.
