#Culture week Music: Arcade Fire and Régine Chassagne Regine Chassagne is a Canadian musician and vocalist, co-founder (with her husband Win Butler) of the independent rock band Arcade Fire. Régine Chassagne was born in Québec on August 18, 1977 of a family of Haitian origin. She grew up in Saint-Lambert, near Montreal. Her parents left Haiti to escape the regime of dictator Francois Duvalier. Since the release of Funeral in 2004, the Canadian band has continued to be influenced by Haiti.
