‘DEPLORABLE’ CHILD ABUSE- A man has been denied bail after he was charged with the “deplorable” abuse of a seven-year-old child in his home. The 29-year-old garbage collector, who can’t be named for legal reasons, whose bail was refused. The man was charged with numerous child abuse offences after the boy was found dead at his Oatley home on May 21 but no charges have been laid in relation to the boy’s death. The court heard child protection authorities, who had been notified of the boy before his death, have since removed the man’s other children.
