**DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS & QUOTABLE QUOTES** Here are some thoughts from YESTERDAYs readings - didnt get a chance to post yesterday because I was writing all day for a client - and just trying to stay warm! ;) ******* Sobering thoughts, because it seems easier to notice and criticize people for their bad traits than to encourage them for their good qualities... *** The very same things that we judge others for, we do ourselves...we look at ourselves through rose-colored glasses, but we look at everyone else through a magnifying glass. We make excuses for our own behavior, but when someone else does the same thing we do, we are often merciless. Doing unto others as we want them to do to us (see Matthew 7:12) is a good life principle that will prevent a lot of judgment and criticism... A judgmental mind is an offshoot of a negative mind--thinking about what is wrong with an individual instead of what is right. BE POSITIVE AND NOT NEGATIVE! --Joyce Meyer in New Day New You [March 13] *** Lord, nothing can separate me from Your limitless, intensely personal love--the one love that is not the least bit based on how much I deserve it, the one love that can never lessen or fail. How amazing that I am precious in your eyes, and that You love me! --Ruth Myers in 31 Days of Praise [Day 13] *** One of the great things about a relationship with God is that He always provides new beginnings. His Word says that His mercy is new every day. Recovering from pain or disappointment of any kind is not something that just happens to some people and not to others. It is a decision! You make a decision to let go and go on. You gather up the fragments and give them to Jesus, and He will make sure that nothing is wasted (see John 6:12). You refuse to think about what you have lost, but instead you inventory what you have left and begin using it. Not only can you recover, but you can also be used to help other people recover. Be a living example of a confident person who always recovers from setbacks, no matter how difficult or frequent they are. --Joyce Meyer in The Confident Woman Devotional [March 13] *** Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness, and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities (Psalm 103:2-5, 8-10).
