"DINNER WITH MANDELA" In 1997, I traveled with a small delegation of young singers from San Francisco to attend the African - African American Summit in Johanesburg, South Africa. On only our 2nd night there, we had the honor of having dinner at the presidential guest house President Nelson Mandela. My students serenaded him as he walked by and greeted his guest. I will never forget that awesome and God-given experience. Just to see him...walking by...world history....the epitome of both humanity and something of Kingdom deity. Wow. I only wish I had pictures! But...and alas..as that was still the day of flash photography...there was much care and concern for how the flashing lights effected his eyes....and so cameras were forbidden.
