##### DO YOU THE ASSURANCE OF ETERNAL LIFE? We have assurance of eternal life if we believe on the name of the son of God Jesus Christ. There is no eternal life without earnest faith in Jesus Christ that confesses Him as Gods Son, sent to be our Lord and Saviour We have assurance of eternal life if we honour Christ as Lord of our lives and are sincerely seeking to keep his commandments. Jesus said to us: if ye love me, keep my commandments - John 14:15. 3. We have assurance of eternal life if we love the Father and the Son rather than the world. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world the love of the Father is not in him - I John 2:15. 4. We have the assurance of eternal life if we habitually and persistently practice righteousness rather than sin. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that everyone that doeth righteousness is born of Him - I John 2:29. On the other hand, He that commiteth sin is of the devil - I John 3:7-10 We have assurance of eternal life if we love the brethren. We know we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren - I John 3:14. We have assurance of eternal life if we are conscious of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. ...And hereby we know that he (Jesus Christ) abideth in us, by the Spirit he hath given us - I John 3:24. 7. We have the assurance of eternal life if we endeavour to follow the example of Jesus and live as He lived. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked - I John 2:6. 8. We have assurance of eternal life, if we believe, accept and abide in the Word of life i.e. the living Christ (I John 1:1) and the original message of Christ and the Apostles. If that which ye had heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son and in the Father - I John 2:24. 9. We have assurance of eternal life if we have an earnest longing and a certain hope for the return of Jesus Christ to receive us to himself. Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is and every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself even as he is pure - I John 3:2-3. The race for eternal life is a lifelong one. It is not a short distant sprint, neither is it a race you run today and abandon tomorrow. It is a race run with patience, endurance, faith and perseverance; with joy, peace, humility and obedience. It is a race you run with purpose and determination. Paul the apostle said concerning the race for eternal life: Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it, therefore I run thus; not with uncertainty. Thus I fight, not as one who beats the air. I Corinthians 9:24-26 (NKJV) Eternal life is the prize for the race; so, run that you may obtain that prize. Do not run with uncertainty in your mind. This race is run like a fight, fight to win. It is not a game, leisure or pleasure jogging. It is a fight of faith. Fight with the seriousness and determination to win. Do not fight like one beating the air, aimlessly. Do not run in vain, do not run like someone jogging on the beach for leisure and pleasure. And I went up by revelation and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run in vain. Galatians 2:2 Paul was conscious of the need to run to win, and not to run in vain. Every aspirant to heaven must be careful not to run in vain, not to be a castaway, not to be rejected or disqualified in the end. Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. You must run to win the eternal life; you must have the assurance of eternal life. This race is run with perseverance and persistence. Only those that persevere to the end will make it. If you persevere to the end you will overcome. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. I John 5:4 You have to remain steadfast to the end and overcome all that the world tempts you with: power, money, pleasure, sin, etc. If you are truly born of God and remain steadfast and faithful to the end, you will overcome. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father and before his Angels. Revelation 3:5 ...Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Revelations 2:10b; 11 These passages assure us that those who persevere to the end shall be rewarded with eternal life and with the crown of life. They will be clothed in white garment and be confessed by our Lord Jesus before His Father and the Angels. You must run your race with endurance, with patience and perseverance to the very end. Paul had a full understanding of this fact and was certain of eternal life. when his ministry drew to a close he said: For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:6-8 Every believer needs to have this level of certainty about eternal life when the time comes, either through death or through the sudden coming of our Lord Jesus. Are you certain? Really certain of eternal life? Run to win the eternal life. May the Lord bless you, keep you and grant you peace and eternal life.
