********DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL OPEN 2014********* Alot of prople have been asking about childrens divisions at the Dublin international open, firstly yes there will be all the normal divisions as expected and for the first time we will be doing something a little different for the kids. At that age experiance is everything and we dont want any children going home feeling thay have lost of havent done well , the experiance thay take from the competition should be a good positive fun one that will have them looking forward to the next competition and the next training session. Of course this is very hard to do as there can only be one winner but we plan to introduce the following. Normal pointing system and rules will apply with one addition. If in a submission and the referee decides to stop match, the two children will be put back standing and 5 points will be awarded to the person who had the submission on. Both hands will be raised at the end of a match and obvisely the person with most points will progress to the next round. The winner would be the one who scored most points and had most submissions on,It also means more experiance for both children. We hope to introduce it but if people dont think its a good idea it wont go ahead..share your thoughts.. PARENTS AND COACHES: Aggressive coaching will not be tolerated. Positive reinforcment only.
