#DailyWord - July 2nd 2 Timothy 4:2-4 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. -------- We live in a generation where most of the world system doesnt account for God, and some in churches are happiest with a Christianity that matches their comfort. In such times God calls to His people to be stabilized in His written word (logos). The same Spirit who speaks (rhema) to us in our daily life situations, wrote the book! In Spirit-filled churches there can sometimes be a push back from being heavily driven by the written word, thinking that somehow that minimizes our willingness to be filled and respond to the Spirits prompting. On the contrary, as Spirit filled believers , we go to the written word of God to be taught well, guided by Holy Spirit. As a result, in the moments we receive promptings from God through various extra-biblical sources, we wont simply be gullible and can test things accurately without having to run for a Bible study. We must be careful to test social media posts, therapies, remedies, lifestyle tips, catchy phrases, dramatic videos and every other form of godly input out there through the filter of Does the Bible say/affirm that?, since theres stuff out there that can either be useful or harmful. A lot of it sounds right, but thats the itchy ears bit. Lets hold to what is good and let go of what isnt of the truth. Make sure the right seed is being planted in your life and bearing fruit. Lets meet God with our Bible today :)
