#Dailyword - September 13th - #HoldingNothingBack 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. 14 If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. ------ We would all quite easily agree that the foundation for our living is Jesus Christ. Would we also agree that building with anything that has no eternal value is pointless? That one is a little harder to swallow. Since we live in quite a natural world, with natural remedies, viewpoints and society, we find it difficult to separate ourselves and operate from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (supernatural resource) while living in this natural place. The passage above is talking about those who build with heavens resources (Gold, silver, precious stone) and natural resources (wood, hay, straw). I can honestly say, that when my work is judged there will be natural stuff that will get burned up. I dont want to waste another day on what I can bring to the table; I would rather depend on God and build with resources He gives. As long as we have today, Let us be people who run to God for heavens resources . We want to give, sow and build with our Fathers resources not ours. Even the talents, gifts, and resources He has given us naturally can end up being just that -natural, if we dont bring them captive to the obedience of Jesus (Your will be done)- 2 Cor 10:5. So, lets build wisely, and be part of something that will stand the test of time...eternally.
